I ended up getting a really good deal on the BIM by OTO machines. (as well as a Digitone, more on that later!!) The delays are beautiful but I was really curious about the implementation of the THRU mode wherein you run signals straight to the 12 bit conversion and bypassing the delay lines. I thought it’d be a great experiment to build some Octatrack percussion chains using this signal flow. The BIM also has built in limiter and filters with an extra 15db of gain that can further color the sound. My tascam 32 2 track reel to reel adds the finishing touches.
