hi all, i am getting into depths with A4 and become demotivated…

so I have the SID sound pack and want to give it Tags … off course my own tags,

and I cannot create these … wish I could name these SID and the richard devine collection RDC

seriously Elektron no cool, not well thought thumbs down

lol you serious?

it is actually quite well thought out.
if you could have arbitrary tags, e.g. sharing tagged sounds would be quite horrendous.
you would quickly accumulate a number of weird tags that would occur only once.
the list of tags to choose from would grow and become unwieldy… soon you would need a search function for tags themselves…

right now, tags are simply a 4-byte bitmask in the sound data. it’s implemented quite elegantly and efficiently.

(though I’m not sure about the actual names that were chosen for them, some of them seem slightly overspecific, while others are more or less meaningless to me.)

you might want consider naming your sounds with certain prefix or suffix, if this helps you… a sound name can be 16 chars, if you use a 3 char suffix & a space, you still have 12 chars for the actual name…

like, include custom tags with the sound name. you can then search for the custom tags using the text search function…

e.g:

SID MY SOUND 1
XXX WHAT
RDC WET FART NO9
TAG NAMENAMENAME

15 chars Max !

world collapses

good point … forcing me to go minimalistic in order to avoid a mess … STILL … I wanna be the king of name tagging (and plocking and triggin and steppin and queuing )

Is there a Sid Sound Pack for the A4? I just looked around for one, but didn’t see it. Link please?

homepage, one of the free a4 /ak patches has some sid sounds in them …

anyway, an update for older official elektron a4 soundpacks with tags would be cool

having used the A4 for quite a while now, I must admit that the factory tag settings are enough … the search function is also a useful tool … hope you found the sid sounds and have fun… cheers
