Copying trigs into new pattern

Just wondering if there is any update for the Octatrack that allows to copy and paste a pattern without switching to that pattern (like Maschine). Just that one feature alone would make me get rid of my maschine I think.

I read this subject in another thread a few weeks ago but the answer was negative.
I other Elektrons, maybe…

Implementing workflow boosters like this is exactly the focus the community should take wrt OT updates

It’s got to be doable and it’s a shame when you are used to it from the latter Black seq boxes

The method should be like that on the A4/AR (except hold Pattern button down aot selected bank), though I wouldn’t expect bank-to-bank copying to be so slick, but intra-bank copying should be conceptually straightforward and reasonable to ask for

You can copy a bank inside Ot with File Manager, from a project to another one, but it is very boring. It should be doable and simplier with an update.

I’m referring to copying patterns in advance ‘on the fly’ to new pattern slots in new (or current) banks whilst the sequencer stays running and you are still on your current pattern - this is the only viable way to build up improvisations, it’s doable with the later units … doing anything within the OT menus is a buzz kill

I understood but as you talked about update…
The copy pattern thing bother me less than bank copy.

this workaround useful? it’s per track rather than per pattern but works on the fly:

very inventive strategy indeed
