I try to copy a pattern the corresponding kit and the corresponding sound from one project to another. I safed all sounds to the +drive. Sounds are basically sample based.
What I did to achieve this:
-Copy the pattern with [FUNC] + [REC] and paste it in the new one.
-Open the kit menu. Load kit. Highlight the kit. [FUNC] + [REC] to copy the kit
-Then I assigend the saved sounds to the tracks using the sound manager in the new project.
When I play the pattern with the corresponding kit in the new project it sounds a bit different. It’s only a little difference and I can’t figure out why.
I found this:
A SAMPLE is an audio file loaded to a folder.
Synth Engine+Sample+Parameter settings=SOUND
SOUND+special Global settings, level etc. = TRACK
What is stored in a track that will not be stored in a sound?
Then I copied the the corresponding tracks with [TRACK] + [REC] to the new project. After that everything was totally messed up. The resulting sound was totally chaotic.
Master FX track: settings for delay, reverb and especially distortion and compressor. I can’t remember if you can copy the entire FX track from 1 project to another…
Legacy FX mode: I can’t remember what menu it’s hidden under, but you may find it’s on in the old project and off in the new one. You should probably set it to off and adjust sounds from there if this is the case anyway.
@min0nim
Thank you for your advice. I checked everything you mentioned but couldn’t find a difference. I deleted the new project. Created a new one and copied everything again. After the second try the sound was totally the same. Maybe I did something wrong the first time.
I’m having this issue right now. I’m super tired of the “new project” “fix”. It’s not really a fix on a song/project you’ve been working on for a year…ugh
i assume it being compressor and distortion settings as the are saved with the project but not with the kit or pattern if i am right… also master effect settings i guess. also performance mode could be enabled…
there are quite a few sources for unexpected sonic behaviour, but those are on my checklist and it is theit fault most times
