I just dislike people intentionally capitalizing on a small manufacturer’s hard work. they’re busting their ass trying to make it through a pandemic with all the delays and issues built into that. you’re lucky enough to snag one of these in the ten minutes they’re available, and think you should be rewarded 4X the price because of it?
if Cooper FX doubled the price to $600, people would lose their minds complaining at them. but they’d still sell out, and people would try to flip 'em for $2k.
really, it’s the same reason I dislike people trying to get $3k out of OT AE editions. you bought it just to flip it. jerk move.
but where is the jerk in the move, the buyer, the seller, or both… and like HB mentioned I feel worse about the pricing of shoes but I don’t buy them so I can’t complain too much?
Sure, and that makes sense. I was just saying that I have no issue with companies setting a limit, whatever they decide is best for them. And I would guess, if you sent Tom, or another company an email, and explained that, he would probably allow you to grab another one.
I see. So, kind of a bummer if you were expecting the Gen Loss exactly in the cartridge format. But, if you ended up with both, then you could possibly cover some different ground, which seems cool.
The cartridge is still nice but it doesnt really feel like a vhs tape hiss, more like a subtle twist that doesnt get noticed but still helps in sound design.
So I like it because it doesnt have the Generation Loss ‘sound’ stamp on it and I can get away with it easily without it being blatantly obvious.
Unfortunately I need to get one of the dedicated pedals some way somehow
it is a reverb, yeah. the thing to remember though with any CBA pedal is that the dip switches in the back basically allow you to configure an LFO for any/all of the parameters. so you can start to get some dark warbly textures going with that. actually many of the CBA pedals tread in and around this territory, if you configure them right.
I got one of the V2, should be here tomorrow. I’m infuriated seeing these reverb prices. I hope no one buys them and can wait to get one from the next batch.
Something extremely frustrating about someone buying something specifically to sell it for 3x the price when there are people who really want to use it for their art.
UK peeps, Andertons still taking pre-orders on these:
Don’t know what guarantee they have on supply, but might be worth a punt if desperate?
The demos of this pedal sound nice n’all, but I don’t quite get what all the major fuss is about. Could something similar not be achieved with some judicious patching in something like the mod duo/dwarf or the H9?
