I always do it pretty similar… any time you have performance macros or knob settings etc, to program it really helps to maintain a system of organization so you dont have to try to remember a specific setup for a specific track
i always assign 2 knobs per track (vertically), then the last 2 knobs for master fx/big changes/whatever
so you always know the first two will hit track 1, second row hits track 2, etc.
you may not know exactly what happens to those tracks (thats something i program specifically per kit), but at least you know what will be affected
but yeh, setting them up could definitely be easier / benefit from some alternate methods
