Is it possible to control the encoders of the Machinedrum with a MIDI Controller? Couldn’t find anything in the manual.
Unless I’m wrong, I remember the MD manual being VERY clear regarding MIDI control. Are you sure you’ve read the manual ?
Yes, what I meant was that I looked into the MIDI and SysEx part of the manual and that there is no mention on how to control the knobs. So probably it can‘t be done. But I‘m not very experienced regarding MIDI and I don‘t know the Machinedrum well, so I thought it might be worth asking if it can be done somehow.
The answer is you cannot control the encoders per se, but you can control what the encoders control, i.e. the eight parameters of the Synthesis, Effects, and Routing pages. The CC numbers are listed in the appendix above and you’ll also need to read up on the Base Channel concept in the manual to understand how to map your MIDI controller across the four MIDI channels to control parameters across all 16 tracks.
if you want to phisically control the encoders using MIDI/SysEx i’m afraid you can’t do that on this machine, you would need motorized encoders or a device that allows you to rotate it without using your hands ![]()
on the other hand, as it’s been mentioned in the previous posts, you can find all the info you need in the manual
