I’m hoping someone can help me out with an issue I’ve been having while controlling by Blofeld with the OT. I’m not using multi mode on the Blofeld, just changing patches per part using the OT, but sometimes it’ll pull up the wrong bank. I.e. if I have the Octatrack set to bank 2 (which should be C on the Blofeld) it’ll randomly pull banks A or B, the program number is always correct though. I’ve tried setting the bank to “off” on the OT but it still happens. I am running the latest OS on both machines. Anyone else have this issue and have a fix for it?
This is weird. I control program changes from my OT too, but never had this issue. I will try it with my Blofeld later, if I have some time. I suspect the Blofeld could be the culprit, because if I set Bank-Off on my OT, only the programmes change on other synths.
Have you checked the Waldorf Forum already?
It was working properly with me.
Very reactive program change BTW. With a midi processor I could change Pchanges at every note, for a Blo drums kit!

I’m thinking it’s the Blofeld too but I don’t have any other synths that use banks to double check. I’ll try the Waldorf forum as well, thanks for the reply!
Are you sure you do send bank message with another track?
Maybe you can use a software midi monitor to check what you send to the Blo.

Ok, I think I may have solved it. I was running the Blofeld on channel 13 as I was planning on daisychaining it with something else. I switched that back to channel 1 (as well as the Octatrack of course) and I’m sending appropriate bank numbers on cc 32 and it seems to be working now. Theoretically it shouldn’t matter which midi channel it’s running on but maybe the Blofeld is a bit finicky.
Edit: Nevermind, it worked for a little bit but went back to what it was doing before.

How do you send CC32?
OT sends CC0 with midi note setup.
It’s enough for bank change no?
So I did some testing myself…
OT used the bank/pgm change parameter from the menu (not cc32 directly). Using two pattern with different parts, each defining different banks and pgms swapped the banks/pgms flawlessly.
I had updated the Blofeld (desktop) to OS 1.25 the other day.

I had 1.22. Sold a few weeks ago.
CC0 worked with it IIRC, and in the manual they were talking about CC32. Maybe the manual is / was not updated.
My OT is on OS 1.30C. The manual for 1.25 and 1.30C says CC32 is “MIDI LFO param #5”.
