Control digitakt with external sequencer possible?

hi there,
i do not onw the machine so excuse the stupid question but is it possible to control the 8 tracks via another sequencer like 8 MIDI tracks + CC?
i have a digitone that i control with another sequencer (track 1>4) so it would be cool to get MIDI THRU from digitone to go on digitakt and control it with MIDI 5>12 and be able to also send CC to control Digitakt parametters like i do with digitone.
