Hi,
I have had my Octatrack for only 2 months and it is very nice and complex. I am just starting to figure out how to connect other gear into it, using tracks like thru machines.
My question is: I have a electribe emx-1 which I am using as a synth… but I want to sidechain it to my tr8… so my outputs are going straight into my tr8… and then I am sending my tr8 outputs into A+B of my Octatrack. Is this a good way to connect my gear? I am afraid I am compromising some audio quality by having too much going into just one track of my octatrack.
Also, I don’t know if it is best to have my electribe going thru my tr8 and then into my octatrack, because maybe I want to use the effects of the octa to affect my synth on the electribe, but I don’t want them to affect the drums of the tr8… I am just doing it this way because I like the sidechain effect I can get in my tr8 external in.
Not sure if I have explained it clear enough… sorry if it’s a bit confusing.
