Hey.
I just bought A Machinedrum an octatrack and A virus c.
And I have A DSI mopho and A Novation 25 key midi keyboard from before.
My question is
How would you connect These the best Way

Machinedrum
Octatrack
Virus c
Mopho
Novation impulse 25

How have you connected your instruments so far?

What are you using each of them for?

Do you know how MIDI works?

That’s a lot of new gear to learn at once. I’d try to focus on one piece at a time. Then, for connections:
midi: impulse → octatrack → mopho ->virus → MD
impulse sends midi to the OT, then the rest is on a thru chain, all on different channels. So you can either play everything on the keys or sequence it from the OT’s midi tracks.
audio: pick the one you want to be stereo, that goes to inputs AB of the octatrack. The other two get C and D.

Hey thanks for answer.
Yes i know midi, but I am not sure if i want A computer in the Mix ore just use the octatrack as centerpeace.
I think I want A pc to record what i do.
Thats why i Wonder about A midi interface?
I want to use machinedrum for beats and rythems
Octatrack for samples,layers,backing
Virus for pass ,strings etc.
Pc for recording
Mopho not sure. I have it
I can skip the virus i have not Paid for it yet.
Also the mopho i can skip.

Then it would be
Laptop
Octatrack
Machinedrum

Opinions?

You could get an audio interface that connects via USB to your laptop. You can then bring the audio from each instrument into separate audio track in your DAW for recording / effects.
I have a Roland OctaCapture, works v well.

I am thinking maybe Motu microlite?

Then it would be

Laptop USB midi interface

Octa - midi interface- mixer - laptop and back again

Sounds like you’ve just splurged a load of money without having any goals in mind… Fair enough, I’m sure we’ve all done it but why not figure out what you have, what you want to do with it and then ask when you have specific questions?

Obviously you can connect all of these pieces of gear to a computer and / or each other via midi but with no planned workflow it’s not at all clear what you’re asking.

BTW if you are buying an interface, there are plenty of audio and midi combined interfaces which saves you a port, space for a box, a power socket etc. etc.
