Connecting External Synth To Digitakt

Hi guys,
Brand new to Digitakt. I would like to sample sounds and sequences into the Digitakt from external synths such as my mc707.
All I would like to know is what wires are connected to the Digitakt from the other synth? There is right and left input / output and there is midi in and midi out. I understand. Midi is for such as my external midi keyboard. However, I cannot sample with the keyboard since it is not a synthesizer. I want to sample audio from my mc707 into the Digitakt so do I connect 1/4 inch trs wires into both right and left inputs or is it to outputs?
Thank you

Midi sends the musical data of what’s going on.

Note value
Velocity
Etc

Audio sends the actual musical signal

Digitakt midi out to Mc707 would allow you to play midi track sequences programmed in the digitakt(midi tracks) to control the mc707

That audio signal will output from the mc707 outputs and that audio will be sent to wherever the audio cable is plugged into(the digitakt ins i assume)

Edit:

Also for both audio and midi you’ll send the outs to ins

Midi from dt to mc would be dt midi out to mc midi in

Same with audio

Thank you Ryan. I appreciate your help. That makes sense. So let’s say all I want to do is sample audio from mc707 into Digitakt and nothing else. So then based on what you said, I would run a cable from the mc707 output into the Digitakt input, correct?

Yes, MC707 output to Digitakt input.

Thank you :+1::pray:
