Connecting AR and A4

Hey all,

just for interest:

If you owned both AR and A4, how would you connect them?

AR output to A4 input

or

A4 output to AR input

and why.

There’s the A4 FX (chorus, reverb, delay) on its inputs, where as the AR has its compression and distortion. really depends what you want to achieve with your sounds.

AR>A4 works fine for me, A4>AR too quiet, can’t hear the synth really…

make sure you have the distortion turned down, as mentioned in the compressor/sidechain thread

Just played around with running the A4 through the external input of the AR. Didn’t run into any level issues, but only as long as I didn’t use the distortion on the AR at all.
I completely agree that the level difference quickly gets out of hand when you add even a little hint of distortion on the AR.
