Congrats on the A4! I know this might come across as if I’m drunk or stoned or intoxicated in one way or another, but I can assure you that I am not. I’m just completely blown away by the fantastic machine that is the Analog Four. Holy smokes, it’s like it’s alive!
This thing completely blows my mind. I just can’t believe I didn’t pick this up before, I thought it sounded somewhat “thin” from the demos, but this is one sweet singing motherfreaker! Wow. I’m flabbergasted. Completely and utterly. Been in trance for hours on end now just layering synthscapes on it. It’s just exquisite. Even the effects in it are just sublime. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful synth! And the modulation options! Wow. I’m having an eargasm right now. It’s like putting your hand through this glove made of plants, flowers, animals and fantasy creatures and just cultivating this beautifully pulsating garden of organic sound. Wow.
I know this might sound a bit stupid, but thank you for making such an incredibly inspiring musical instrument! I am pretty damn sure that your philosophy on how musical instruments should be are in many ways defining the sounds of the future. Without the slightest hint of doubt. The ways in which these machines can be utilized are just mindblowing. Be proud, be very proud! Goddamn visionaries …
Hehe, while I can verify today that I definitely wasn’t drunk yesterday, I was most definitely in some sort of post-A4calyptic euphoric state when I wrote that yesterday. I still stand by every word!
I must confess that for the first month or so of ownership I lost a bit the contact with reality, but with time it gets better.
The thing is definitely alive. ( I am a pantheist, anyway)
The A4 is like reversed alien technology or better yet, the A4 would be the sound system aboard an alien craft that obviously has a direct link with fine folks in Sweden! Find myself forgoing food, sleep, and yes, even my bladder screams at me to bring me back to reality for a bit. Loving it!
…and the default sounds in there (the ones proposed to Download for free somewhere) kick severe ass and are great starting point for many things
(reese bass like ‘thick bass’, or the lazy but fabulous ‘bass3-3’, several ready to use insane kicks as well etc…)
I disagree with those saying you need to tweak the shit to have great sounds, it’s for me the most ‘ready to blast’ elektron machine so far (had all of them except the Sid…)
I’ve amassed quite a number of different synths over 20 or so years. And the A4 has made many of them redundant! So I guess that makes it pretty bloody good
