Is there any trick to the CC sending on the midi? I select a trig, hold the trig, change the CC parameter. Then I assign a ‘first’ conditional and then it never kicks in. If I don’t assign a conditional then it’s fine. The channel is setup properly, if I tweak in manually the device sees the message, but it’s to control a looper record/play, so I’m trying to have it on the grid so that I don’t need to activate it manually and so it’s also in sync.

If I don’t put a condition on there, it will forever go back in record mode and out of it… which is not super convenient. I know at this point I should just do my looping on the OT but I like how my looper has 90 min of looping time

Weird. If it works without trig condition, it should ofc work with a trig condition.

Sometimes it helps to reload the project or switch OT off and on again.

Can you use a one-shot trig instead?

One shot trigs are not available to MIDI tracks.

From the manual (not that I know much about one shot trig)
Is there a way to send Midi CC from the sampler tracks (not midi?)

You cannot sequence MIDI CC messages from the audio tracks.

I’ll add you can send CCs turning knobs, pressing certain buttons, trigs with Mixer or Quick Mute mode…

You can disable / enable this in
MIDI > CONTROL : CC OUT (INT, INT+EXT, EXT).

Yeah I am super confused, when I press stop twice on my Octatrack it triggers the record/overdub on the ditto x4… as if pressing 2x stop would reset the CC? I’d probably need to plug the OT in the computer to listen to what is going on.

The ditto x4 really seems to be drifting from the midi clock, or maybe I’m not just getting it. To be able to put some CC on the grid would help at least creating a loop that is the right size. but I’ve got pretty funky results so far. Seems like the ditto x4 respond to CC changes on 22 (midi 4) - so I don’t know what was the last cc that ditto x4 ‘remember’… so I have to change the CC signal each time I’m trying something new.

The FIRST really doesn’t kick in on the first trig, do I need to have that on the trig 2 so that it gets fired up? But then to create a full loop I’d need a trig on 1…

I’ve found out that on other looper setting midi clock to not rounded decimals like 93 might create a problem. I’ll try a few more thing like that for the moment.

Sounds good, seems like my Ditto x4 was doing crazy stuff when I left the midi out from the audio track… so I guess the Ditto x4 also listen to midi note being sent from track 4

You can check on which midi channels the audio tracks send midi by going to project -> midi -> channels and under midi -> control you can set if audio tracks send/receive notes or midi cc.

If you don’t need audio tracks to send any midi, set channels to off for all audio tracks or you can set audio note out and audio cc out both to “int”.

I couldn’t remember if they were or not, I don’t use the MIDI side of the OT very often.

Yeah - I’m totally out of idea - I read that many user cannot get over the ‘drift’ the ditto x4 has. I just bought the pigtronix infinity 3 and I’ll try to get it in sync with the OT and resell the ditto x4. It sux because the ditto x4 is an awesome - really simple and powerful looper!
