Compact synth for OT improv set

There’s a video of Stimming showing his live setup with OTs. I recall he had a little Roland boutique with keyboard in his setup for noodling over the top

I am. :content:
Easy to tweak.

@sezare56 @slicetwo last night i’ve been mapping most mm2 midi cc’s with 4 midi tracks per multi part like this:

and it’s awesome! but i’m still struggling with cc7 not stored, no real elegant way to change presets when using both multi parts together. maybe i could try sticking to the same parts but i should practice a bit with this setup. (also bit of a bummer that osc waveform is not cc exposed)

edit: actually i would like the mm2 reading out cc7 when changing presets, so you can change preset at 0 volume. but dunno if there is a workaround

Don’t use multiparts. Use bitimbral instead. It’s slightly different, but you can load different sounds for each patch at will.

Pretty sure there is. I can’t test for the moment. @elektrosamplist may shime in ?

MM1 vs OT improvisation. One take, MM1 (monotimbral) in OT as fx, no samples. One pattern with OT midi tracks. Maybe 10 CCs used to modulate MM1.

Doable with MM2 of course.

i’m using bitimbral! so T1 has the midi notes on chan 1, T5 notes on chan 2. T2-4 params on chan 1 and T6-8 params on chan 2. thing is when i set cc7 on say, part B at 0 and then change preset mm2 won’t read the cc7 value. it’ll play at full volume.

besides that it sounds amazing! 3 lfo’s per midi track, it’s ridiculous. when you start modulating/plocking a bunch of stuff this little beast really comes alive…

@sezare56 already pm’ed him :slight_smile:

Sending CC7 after the PCs is the workaround (do you really want to store patches that output no sound?)

EDIT: sorry didn’t realize this wasn’t the MM2 specific topic…

edit: i don’t want to store volume, i think i’d like CC7 to be persistent across PC

Yeah. That’s the one pain in the butt thing about it. I also with you could set each patch with different # of voices. Like patch 1 is 2 voices and patch 2 is 10 voices.

yes voice allocation would be cool. think i’m gonna try to learn to jam around the cc7 thing, staying with one preset per part for now. with all the exposed cc’s its already quite flexible.

quick heaphone noodle with a bunch of midi lfo’s on lead (bass is also mm2):
