Seems to be the trend, but it would stomp on both the 'takt and the 'tone if thatās trueā¦ hard to see how that would play.

that depends on the limitations imposed on the device
Maybe a true analog/digital hybrid drum / synth in a digi-format, no samples, but no fm or external midiā¦ would play nicely with the other two.
