Clock divider on future OS update?

I know you guys are inundated with requests, but I was wondering if you would consider adding an option for the CV outs in a future OS update. On the CV config page, when selecting to output a clock pulse, it would be awesome to be able to multiply or divide the system clock by a set amount. Seems like it would be an easy change to implement, and I’m sure it would be a welcome addition: particularly for any Korg users, as all of their boxes seem to (still) run at twice the internal resolution of most everything else (much like the 48 ppq DINsync days).

Firstly, the chances of movers and shakers at Elektron reading this are slim fwiw

Depending on the application you could perhaps make do with a synced lfo, some systems rely on the voltage rise than the pulse width if you use value lin

Anyway a better #A4tip Is to run the cv trig track with an arp enabled
With speed 6 it is 1/16ths (ie trig rate)
With 3 it is 1/32nds (ie twice trig rate)
etc

With 1 it’s 1/96ths

does anyone else think it’d be handy to get some extra mileage out of the MIDI thru/Sync B jack at virtually no effort on the part of Elektron The Sync options available on either MIDI Out/Thru port allow for sending DinSync 24 or Din Sync 48 Taking the more common Roland Sync 24 that’s 24 5v pulses per quarter note from one of the pins. That’s 6 per trig ! Now, if Elektron would clock divide that output by 3/6/12/24/48/96 you would be able to tap a clock sync for your monotribe/volca/arp/mod…

Couldn’t you use the arpeggiator to do this? Then you can also adjust the gate length.

Actually, I usually use the CV track to send eighth note pulses out. That works great, but it uses up the CV track. Just seems to me like a simple OS tweak that would be really useful at the output config page. I love that the outputs are already so configurable (one of the best things about the A4, really) and that the internal timing is so tight. I use it to clock everything, and I’ve never had any noticeable drift. This is just one of my niggles with the OS, and I was very surprised that it wasn’t added with the last update, since so much of the update focused on the CV outs.

**Also: I don’t frequent these forums often, but I was under the impression that Elektron was fairly active on here. They strike me as a small-ish company that listens to their customers more than most manufacturers I can think of.

I do think that you’re right about this. Pretty sure that, unlike most everyone else, Korg uses both the rise and fall stage of the duty cycle of a pulse wave to advance their sequencers (probably going back to the Sync48 days). Hadn’t tried an LFO out to mimic this yet, though. Good idea. Might even be able to yield a bit of swing by adjusting the pulse width…
That’s why I love the A4 so much: there’s usually a few ways to do nearly anything you’re trying to do.

I have a very nice hardware solution coming soon, it will be reasonably priced and tight as can be. 4 clocked outputs from A4/Keys or Rytm that do not tie up the CV outs.
