Clearance between top plate and side. Is this ok?

Hi there,

I neeed advice:

Yesterday I bought a new AR. After few hours of getting to know each other, I saw a clearance (a small gap) in the middle between thr top plate and the left side, see pic.

Is this normal??

If not: what shall I do, what would you do?

Thanks in advance!

ÌDoesnt look that strange, although i dont have it like that

Mine is similar. There’s no reason to be worried and surprised you even noticed! :slight_smile:

unfortunately, it is fairly normal.

better ventilation!

tbh, if it was me, i wouldn’t be best pleased, the compliance of the top panel (assuming it flexes under pressure/striking) is hardly going to make an already ‘tricky’ pad response situation any better, or maybe it will make it better :wink:

caveat: assumes the pcb/pads are attached to faceplate and not projecting through from chassis support

Thanks for your opinions!

@biologik: on the left side as well?
Ok… maybe the pic is not that good, but faceplate bows nearly 1 mm the highest. Looks like the AR fell down somewhen or so… Made a new pic.

@bkinsman: Lol, true :wink:

@avatronica: It seems, that pads are not mounted against the faceplate; if I press fairly hard, the gap is not moving. If pressing the faceplate, it moves easily.

Thanks in advance for your comments, if you experience the same.
