Hi, is there a way to perform the “clear slot” action from the AE with a simple shortcut?
I found that when using pickup machines, simply do “erase” just empties the record buffer, but keeps the sample length and tempo and some other stuff it has calcultated from the discarded take. Especially annoying when it gets tempo and length wrong. A full reset of the PUM can only be done doing that “clear slot”, as it seems. And that is some serious menu diving, in average it takes around 8 button presses… I did my research but didn’t find anything. Thanks!
If you stop the pickup from playing you can just re-record into it and it can redefine a new length and/or bpm. I never erase or clear slot or anything and continually record new loops with different lengths and bpms this way.
Yes, that’s how it should be. But I suspect that I came across some weirdness I need to investigate further. What seems to happen here is that it doesn’t work as expected when using midi to command the PUM, unless I used the front panel commands at least one time before using my midi footswitches. Using only the front panel buttons it works consistently OK. (I’m on MkII so I have the 3 rec buttons and am in quick record mode)
I’ll try to find a reproductible sequence of events.
