Wondering if there is a way to program chromatic trigs (audio or midi) in grid recording mode. It seems like it shouldn’t be possible given that the trigs become the keyboard, unlike the AR/A4, but I thought I remembered seeing something in the first version of the manual on how to do this. And it made sense. Now that section seems to be missing. On page 21 it’s says to see page 28 for details on how to record chromatically in grid and live modes. On page 28 now, only the live mode section mentions chromatic. Any ideas? Anyone have the first version of the manual???
I can’t see chromatic being possible in grid mode, like you say, the ‘pads’ are trigs in that mode. You can’t do this on OT either. Think you maybe just misinterpreted/misremembered the manual or it was written ambiguously in that section
You can change the trigged note in grid mode though.
You’re probably right. I remember wondering this before the manual dropped and checking it as soon as it was available. Must have imagined something I wanted to see. BUT why reference grid mode at all in the chromatic section?
You are all correct. You can only have Chromatic mode active for recording in LIVE RECORDING mode. I will remove the reference to GRID RECORDING mode in conjunction with Chromatic mode. Thanks for spotting it and bringing it up
I guess a kind of workaround is that you can use an external keyboard to add notes chromatically in GRID RECORDING mode.
You can also use Chromatic mode when you are not recording to the sequencer. It’s the possibility to use it to record trigs that is limited to the LIVE RECORDNING mode.
thanks for confirming that I’m not crazy! I knew I saw SOMETHING about that
