Why make it so complicated for yourself, if you want to chop breaks you can simply slice the audio file at the transients or flex markers.
I’m not that familiar with Logic yet, but slicing audio files is standard.
It’s pretty much done automatically and you get your chops as audio files without any midi/sampler stuff. definitely easier than a sampler if you only want the chops.
