Checking out demo pattern parameters

I got my Rytm yesterday, and I’m interested in taking a closer look at the demo kits/patterns to see what Elektronauts did in order to achieve them. Is there an easy way to check the p-locks, and is there anything else I should be looking at too? Some of the patterns evolve, so it would be cool to see.

Also, I’m getting a little confused about one bit of terminology: Trigless trigs. These are parameter changes on a step that doesn’t have a trigger, right? How do I set these up and how do I ‘see’ them on a track after that?

check the plocks: hold down the locked key in grid edit mode and go through the five parameter pages. the black highlighted parameters are the one they changed (press the assigned poti to remove the plock).

go to the scenes and perfs and play with them. lots of fun.

trigless trigs: function+trig button in grid edit mode.

to understand what it does, do this (one of my favourite things on elektron machines):

  1. insert a trigless trig
  2. hold it down and go to the ‘trig’ page. there set lfo start=1
  3. release the button. go to the lfo page and set target to sample slot
  4. make sure the slots are filled
  5. insert some trigs to the sequencer
  6. play with the lfo start phase, amplitude, etc. while you play the sequence.

this is what you are doing: you use the trigless trig to reset the lfo everytime the trigless trig is played. changing lfo values leads to different lfo structure and thus to different sounds on the ‘normal’ trigs.

have fun.

Thanks! I’ll give all that a go.
