Chase Bliss effects pedals

Basically, this looks like CBA wants to get rid of some inventory. It is such a smart move because they will be paid 300 instead of 0 on items that don’t rotate much.

CBA will sacrifice a bit of profit margin on the more expensive items but, at the same time, if they sell enough of the Mystery boxes (and they seem to), the campaign will be a financial and branding success…

Finally, in the EU, in the worst case, people are going to return one of CBA’s newer products, which will sell sooner or later again.

Yea I hate to make any thing political but I think most US business’s are trying to keep inventory low for the next few years until they fully understand any future import tariffs in materials

JHS did something similar with the Ross stuff that was selling

New pedal
(Edit: sounds from the new limited edition distortion pedal they is only available in the mystery box)

I didn’t think I wanted a Dirt Bird as I have plenty of distortion boxes already. But that video had me excited about how gross a 303 (well, my A4) will sound through it.

Oh yes! I don’t know what this kind of distortion is but it sounds like a ripping punk on cassette sound to me. some dark shitty reverb on that 303 and you’re in heaven

Mystery Box incoming! I don’t have any Chase Bliss, so I’ll be happy with whatever I get! What fun!

They’re great pedals and as a first time owner this should be a great experience with big possibilities (golden pin types).

Part of paring things down, I only have MOOD mk 1 and Preamp mk 2 on the board.

I boxed up CXM to possibly sell, but after months away, I’m happy I haven’t yet. I’ll likely open that back up soon.

And someone is going to get a CXM for their Mystery box. How crazy is that!

Can’t wait to see what everyone gets!

Funny, I came to the same conclusion last evening. You could be cynical about that, but I like they made a fun campaign out of it.

I‘m lot sure I wanna have one of these prototypes or one of a kind paintings though tbh, the ones they’ve shown so far are pretty ugly :

They are ugly, but onward looks cooler than on the offical release, i think.
For EU citizens, now’s the best time to get a CB pedal. A new Onward, Mood2, Lossy, or GenLoss2 for 340€ each is insane.

Have to agree on the Onward, really interested in what the pedal can do, but the artwork is one of the worst ones IMO.

Being in the EU did it for me. I ordered an Onward (definitely wanted) at the same time as the mystery box and if the MB is a completely miss for me, I’ll send it back. I’m sure they’ve thought through things well, so I won’t feel bad about it. I love the company and really like that they’re doing something so playful.

I just really need to suss out how to use my midi controller (MC6 ProMKII) to get the most out of the pedals. My aging brain is struggling:)

I’m also not a big fan of Onward’s artwork, it’s probably their worst design so far. I still prefer it to that one above. It just looks like someone had a fun time with their friends painting a few pedals on a Sunday.

Anyhow, it’s great and underappreciated pedal and I hope you all will have fun with it!

The good thing for me is that chase bliss pedals aren’t available in european stores anymore. This makes it more difficult and expensive for me to order them. As much as i’m tempted to get some of these i wouldn’t know where to stop. Luckily my pedal addiction came to a halt but chase bliss pedals would make it very hard if they would be easier to get here.

Got a Mood when they were still available in a few german stores and really like it.
I wonder why they only sell via their own website nowadays. Probably more cost effective.

CBA explained once that removing retail intermediaries would allow them not to raise prices on their pedals. This happened during Covid AFAIR.

Can’t you order from their EU Store in the Netherlands?

Well, I’ve got good/bad news for you: Ordering them has been easy ever since they’ve changed their model. Sending back as well, although I didn’t do that myself yet. They’ve established a hub in the Netherlands that makes everything really easy and convenient. It also means there aren’t extreme shipping costs and VAT slapped on top of it, like with Hologram pedals for example. Now that they’ve lowered prices even further for the current sale, the only reasons not to get one of their pedals are that you still don’t have the money/need for them or need to try them out in a brick and mortar store before buying.

The good thing is Chase Bliss super fans will lose their mind over them and if you get a custom painted one you don’t like it’ll probably get $700 on reverb

In Canada, the mystery boxes won’t include any discontinued or legacy pedals. Since I mostly only want MOOD MKII, I will be at a higher risk of getting two of them since there are only eight pedals in the normal pool and two of them are more expensive and (I would expect) less likely to receive and two others are mono only. I think it might be better for me to just get MOOD MKII at $340, which is an excellent deal.

This is the best time to get one. Free shipping and no customs.

I’m not so sure about that. I always see these limited CBA pedals sitting on Kleinanzeigen for absurd prices for months or years. Does Reverb show a record of lots of these selling for really high prices or are there just many of them listed?

Noooo! My bank account didn’t want to know that. But seriously, that’s good to know. I thought i’d have to pay for shipping and custom from the US.
