Chase Bliss effects pedals

“We will also have a handy Mystery Box Tracker Tool that will launch on October 26th where you will be able to enter your order number to find your estimated shipment.”

I don`t think you get any info about shipment before next Monday.

I use my Chase Bliss pedals with synths, guitar and drums.

There are pedals that mostly bring you some color: GenLoss2 gets you tape warble, EQ and saturation, Lossy some digital glitches. I love both, in this order, cause I love the sound of tape.
But GenLoss2 introduces a very slight delay to enable warble, so you have to compose with this
For rhythm-based music, Onwards can add glitches and either sample rate texture or saturation. And some random sustain, it can be fun.
Coloring pedals like the two above can be useful too.

My favorite use is to use them on a parallel FX chain, together with other FX that transform the sound enough to get some background track to my regular one.
You can also “play” them by completely muting your original track and see where it goes, but for this I prefer a synth or a guitar so that I can adapt what I play to what I’m hearing.

MOOD II can do lots of things, but it’s for ambient pads that I’m using it most, I don’t use it on rhythmic stuff.
Lossy can get you some dreamy pads as well.
Now yesterday I’ve add a lot of fun adding dirt on a simple beat with Bad Mood, this one can go very heavy

I prefer Lost+Found to Chroma Console, sound-wise (I’ve owned both and sold the CC). On the UX side, L+F may be less clear and the “hidden” parameters artificially obfuscate some interesting parameters. But it’s much fun and yes, I prefer its sounds.

Brothers AM and blooper are mono: I use them only with the guitar, but they are instant pleasure, both of them.

CXM 1978 is the best sounding reverb I own, and I have a lot of choice in this department. It feels very “natural”. Very pricey though, I got it second hand but it still cost me more than the Eventide Space.

Note that they all like to be tweaked, and go well in a MIDI-capable setup.

They will bring you to other places.
My first CBA pedal was the GenLoss2, I was looking for coloring the sound.
I had re-sold MOOD II 2 times before it finally clicked.

Lost+Found is so capable it is basically always on.
It also offer some coloring, there’s a GenLoss lite FX and Glue can add saturation.
But if you want one focused pedal, you might want a coloring one.

Yet if you’re unsure, you might want to just go for a Mystery Box ^^
You can always find people to trade it if you don’t click with it.

Or you can keep your money and wait till your need becomes more precise, instead of giving to your GAS…

I think that’s misleading, it only says that it starts on 26th and that you should check back later, @LyingDalai has ordered sooner and already has a concrete window shown. So you should expect to receive it later.

80650 is not my order, is the number that is displayed as an example…

but yes, I woke up at 4am

Well last time I got a Lossy which was probably the one pedal I had no interest in. The good thing is I was able to shift it to someone who cherished it pretty fast. Hoping this year for something closer to my vibe. But Zone 4 means a long long wait

Wish they’d hurry up and sell out already.

Forgot to ask, do they have stereo i/o?

This sounds interesting to me as well, since i also like tape sound.

Interesting, thanks.

Yes i will think about it, also maybe i can buy used one first.

I appreciate your detailed explanation.

It seems most exciting to score one of the new unreleased pedals. It would also probably be easy to re-sell if it doesn’t suit me (which is rarely the case with CB, half my pedal board is CB pedals ). To my knowledge, the only small analog stereo pedal in the CB lineup is clean. So chances are the new one might also be mono?
I would most likely keep big time as well, if I’m one of the lucky ones, but I’m not getting my hopes up with the small chance.
I’d also keep gen loss II, the black lost and found, and brothers AM.
Given that I already own quite a lot of their pedals, I’ll most likely just receive one I already own, but that wouldn’t be so bad, actually. I’m currently running a big parallel processing board with the outbox8, so there’s lots of options for a second clean or lossy.

most newer ones do, but not all of them.
blooper is mono, for example, which is a shame because otherwise it’s quite brillant.

i don’t own a guitar, but i have three chase bliss pedals (mood mk2, lost + found, blooper). they are definitely not just for guitars.

I have six of their pedals already, and not a single guitar.

I use Mood I and Mood II in different performance setups. I use Gen Loss before the Mood I. Onward is my least used pedal: i don’t play keys enough to make use of the follower-sustain, but the glitch is great on drums. I really like Lossy with subtle dry-biased settings, to add texture to synth sounds.

All the ones I mentioned except Brothers AM and blooper are stereo.
Clean as well.
The discontinued pedals are often mono, so check this when you look at second-hand ads.

Then GenLoss2 is the one, don’t look any further!
I also love the Kinotone Ribbons for this, but it’s a bit more expensive. And doesn’t have these lovely saturations…

It’s less hands on: you usually have your settings and might only touch the saturation level and the EQ.
But it definitely add character, and I love it.

Definitely go for a second-hand first.
Or a Mistery Box!

I just sold my Mood MK2 a month ago and felt settled with the Bad Mood as my only CBA pedal but I caved and ordered the Mystery Box. :sweat_smile:I feel content with my current pedal setup for guitar and occasional synths but the mystery is too much fun. Would love the Big Time (will never fork over that much for a pedal), and I’m curious about what the new analog pedal will be!

On another note, for the previous mystery box in 2024 the FedEx worker delivered the mystery box, in an unmarked plastic bag (bc of snow), next to our trashcan, on trash collection day. It was a miracle I discovered it before the trash truck arrived! :scream:

I signed up for the newsletter yesterday but didn’t notice the confirmation email until this morning. Oh well, guess my stupidity finally saved me money!

You mean Misery box?

So this saturation is probably different then the ones in AH and +FX, but how colse are they? And is this pedal analog?

Merci beacoup

:scream: indeed!

What do folks do if they receive a duplicate? I only have clean at the moment and a bad mood inbound, November.

That said, I have incredibly bad luck! Like debilitating bad luck!
