But I can’t change - let’s say - from part one to part two - soundwise nothing happens.
For example:
I select a drumloop, make a trig on pattern one, go to the part-menu and save part one.
I switch to pattern two, select in the part-menu part two, change the drumloop to a new one - on the same track, go to the part menu and save part two.
Now all should be saved. Shouldn’t?
when I now change from pattern one to pattern two or vice versa the drumloop doesn’t change as saved. I’m going nuts!
Who can help? Do I save the wrong way? Do I have to change something in the Project/System-Menu?
When you switch patterns which drumloop is it playing? 1 or 2?
If you look at the pattern, you definitely see different names for the sample loaded? Both samples are saved in the same sample list for the project, right?
Did you happen to p-lock the sample?
Parts definitely do control which samples are loaded to each track. They also control pretty much anything else in the menus that you didn’t p-lock. So, in pattern 1, change the pitch way down (and save the part 1) and in pattern 2 change it way up (and save part 2). When you switch patterns you should hear the pitch change and in the main display you should see the current pattern number and the part it is using.
@ oldgearguy: I did a test few minutes ago. I changed a lot of parameters (pitch, sample start, FX…) and everything changes from part 1 to 4 as I want it to - except the samples themself
When I work with sample-locks, the sounds will change from pattern to pattern, but that’s not the idea of the part, isn’t it?
The part should change the sample, loaded in the corresponding machine, as I understand the manual…

I’ll have to play around and see if I can replicate this behavior. The only thing I can think of is whether a sample lock on a track overrides all other samples for that track when changing parts. (if so, that would be a bug, IMHO).
The OT constantly surprises me, but I don’t think I’ve ever had this particular surprise happen to me.

yeah flex lock samples will stay across parts and keep their locks although they take on other parameters. i don’t mind the sample staying locked, but with the effects it is kinda crap. watch out if you have the compressor in another part in case the gain parameter is in the same spot!
to get a new sample in a part you have to have it loaded into your machine playback setup list in a open slot and select it, if you are changing what sample is loaded in a slot it will change when you switch to another part that is using that slot.
@ meta: this was finally the solution. Now it works. Sorry, but I thought, that each part is loading the new sample directly from the CF-card into the slot.
