I was mapping CC’s last night when I discovered several errors in the Midi CC Implementation Chart (Appendix C Page C2)
The following are incorrect:
22 | Arp param #1 (Transpose)
23 | Arp param #2 (Legato)
24 | Arp param #3 (Mode)
25 | Arp param #4 (Speed)
26 | Arp param #5 (Octave Range)
27 | Arp param #6 (Arp Note Length)
These CC’s map to the following parameters:
22 Attack
23 Hold
24 Release
25 Volume
26 Balance
Essentially everything that is contained in the Amp section of the OT and nothing to do with Arps.
CC 27 does nothing as far as I can tell.
CC 54 Arm All seems to be ineffective. This may be due to user error tho.
If somebody has correct CC’s for Arp control I would appreciate if you post them.

I tried this out last night and it seemed to work as the manual states. However, it is important to notice that the section says that those Arp parameters (actually that entire table) refer to when CC Direct Connect is OFF. At the moment, I don’t remember if I was trying this on the Selected/Auto Channel or not, but I was able to get a few of the Arp settings to change when moving sliders on my controller.

Oh I see, the Amp/Arp are in the same section. Its possible to toggle between them. Its just sort of misleading the way it has been labelled in the manual. It only says Arp rather than Amp/Arp. Still the Arp section still doesn’t seem to respond to incoming CC’s when in Arp mode. Maybe I am doing something wrong? I am sequencing the OT externally too if that makes a difference.

Amp parameters belong to audio tracks.
Arp parameters belong to MIDI tracks.
What your CC does, depends on where you send it to.

I had some trouble understanding that part of the manual as well. The machine will receive CCs for a screen whether or not you are actually displaying that screen on the machine. In the manual:
“While in MIDI mode and CC DIRECT CONNECT is deactivated, the
auto channel responds to the following CC messages.”
The auto channel is the currently selected MIDI Track. So, if you disable CC Direct Connect in your Project settings, you should be able to change the Arp settings for the currently selected MIDI Track.
Although, as a side note, I’m noticing that that text in the manual changed from 1.21 to 1.25. In 1.21, it said “the auto channel and the MIDI tracks respond to the following CC messages”. I wonder if functionality was lost there or if they just corrected the manual. It appears that only the active MIDI Track parameters (Arp, etc) can be controlled by CCs.

Yes I saw that at the top of the page.
I have direct connect set to off but the Arp doesn’t respond to the CC’s. I suppose that makes sense if they are only used for out going midi messages from the OT rather than trigger by incoming messages. I don’t know, I thought maybe there was some mislabelling happening or something.
At the end of the day this is not a problem for me. I am sequencing the OT externally and can use the Arp contained in that sequencer so I am fine with having the Amp mapped to those CC’s.
Have you set your OT midi track to receive messages from an incoming midi channel? Check your playback settings page for the midi track your arp is on.
