I’ve had my Digitone for a while, but I’ve never used its MIDI Out for syncing other gear, since I usually use different devices to handle clocking. Now, I need the Digitone to be the master clock, but I can’t seem to send MIDI clock to my other units.
I’ve tried everything I can think of and double-checked all settings, but no luck. Specifically, I’m trying to sync it with a Cyclone TT-303 or an LXR-02 drum machine, but neither are receiving the clock signal from the Digitone. Routing done correctly, digitones midiout to tt midi in. Tired different midi cables
Ports Settings:
Out Port Function is set to MIDI.
Thru Port Function is set to MIDI.
Input From is set to MIDI + USB, and Output To is MIDI + USB.
Sync Settings:
Clock Send is enabled.
Clock Receive is enabled (though I don’t need this if Digitone is the master).
Transport Send is disabled (but maybe this should be on?).
Has anyone run into this issue before? Am I missing something?
Hey, I think it has to do with the other devices. I found this for the TT-303 on google, give it a try and if it works then we can see about the LXR but one thing at a time.
So, while this is talking about receiving notes, I’d assume that this is the same basic procedure that you need to follow to enable midi functionality (what I’m saying is that maybe there’s an order to doing things to make the TT listen to the midi in port, but I didn’t look in the manual or anything so if this doesn’t work I’ll pull it up and see if there’s something else).
Transport on (send) is necessary if you want the digitone’s play button to start the sequencer on the TT303. Are you going to use it’s inbuilt sequencer or the digitone sequencer to send it notes? If using the digitone sequencer, you’ll need to enable the channel which you’re going to be sending to from the midi track’s source page (syn 1), in fact probably just do that anyways. You have to press and hold func and then press the A encoder for channel and then turn it and set to match the TT.
