Can't preview sampled audio... not sure if 1.04 bug or not

I’ve got midi going out Ch.1 to 0-Coast with 0-coast audio coming back in to DT.

I record whatever I’ve just jammed, and now I’m unable to preview… Makes for a difficult trim job.

I started a new project to check, and I’m getting the same behavior.

This could be because it’s from a midi track, but that seems silly.

I had no problems previewing sampled audio yesterday.

Make sure you do not have a midi track selected, select audio track see if that helps

Okay, that was it. Thank you!

Preview is back in action.

Delete or leave this post here? I’m comfortable either way. (moderator choice)

I didn’t fully realize that sample preview required an audio channel.

Seems like preview should preview no matter what.

The screen for preview/button src is different on midi, that’s why it can’t be done, I should image you will loose options on midi if that was the case. Glad it’s sorted now

The preview uses the settings of the selected Audio track to preview the sample. Be aware of this: If the settings are such that they are severely altering the sound (extreme filtering, super short amp. envelope, etc…) then your preview will be subjected to that.

If what you’re doing is choosing a replacement sample, this is just what you want. If you are picking a sample for a track in a blank pattern, the settings are neutral, and also what you want. Sure, there is some scenario where you really intend to “start afresh” as you are picking the sample - and the only way to do that is to clear out the parameter pages first.
