I’m tearing my hair out over here. All I want is the master clock from the octatrack to clock my modular with the Kenton. I don’t want to do it the ghetto way of putting loud pulse type recordings on a track, or using the sequencer as a trigger. I just want the clock to drive my modular. I’ve messed with hundreds of setting combinations and no luck. I ran the Pro Solo in test mode and it is SEEING the clock. But nothing! I’ve gotten it to light up my clock divider, but it just hangs there. If anyone has experience running these two pieces of gear together I could use a hand.
You’ve probably worked this out, but in the off chance you haven’t
OT doesn’t send or receive clock by default on a project.
function+project -> midi -> sync
enable send for transport and clock.
I have used a kenton pro solo mk1 box with the octatrack successfully.
I used a square LFO on the aux out of the kenton for clocking, the trick being that you must turn up the level of the square LFO via midi CC (default is CC 17 on the mk1), and set the division and waveform (default is triangle, clock must be square) as desired from the front panel.
You’d probably be better off with Yarns.
