Hi, it would be helpful if you post your AR MKII OS version and also the specific version of windows on your computer and then verify on the elektron site that your pc meets the minimum requirements to run overbridge.
First, is your AR MKII detected by the Transfer app and can you verify that your computer has successfully connected with it at all? Sometimes too high of a security setting in windows can trigger an approval which is needed by the listed admin. Even if that’s you, sometimes the pop ups get hidden so that’s one thing I would check.
I would also search this site for other similar threads about the same device. I’m not using a RYTM but I have seen similar threads and questions so I know there’s some information available.
I would also recommend that if you do find that the Transfer app recognizes your AR, that you next try recording some USB audio into your DAW to verify that AR is recognized as an audio device. Overbridge is not needed to do this, Overbridge is the program specifically for multitracking, so just select the RYTM like it was an audio interface, then arm and record to the track.
If you give some more specifics about what happens when you do these things, surely someone here will be able to help you.
Hi, thank you for reading my problem and for your response!
Sure, I forgot to mention these additional information:
AR MK II -> Version 1.70A
Windows 11, version 24H2, last update on 24.11.2024
Unfortunately, the Transfer App does also not recognize the AR MK II. However, if I turn the AR to USB mode, I can easily use it in may DAW. So the DAW can communicate with the AR.
I also have tried to stop the defender when installing Overbridge.
First disable overbridge mode in the AR menu and then see if transfer recognizes the rytm in usb/midi mode, I think it might. Also make sure you’re trying a usb 2.0 port directly on your computer because I’ve seen rytm can have problems with usb 3.0.
If you ever had a previous version of overbridge installed on your PC you can try what’s been said here in this post:
I’ll see if I find anything else specific that might help.
Thank you so much for your help!
I am still not successful…
Under USB mode the AR is recognized in the Transfer App.
AR is plugged in USB 2 port directly.
I deinstalled Overbridge as in the description and re-installed.
The strange thing is that I cannot find Overbridge in the “regedit” even if I installed it. Also, in the device manager, AR is listed under “Other devices” and with an orange exclamation mark.
It looks like Overbridge cannot be installed correctly and/or some drivers are missing.
It’s really frustrating…
I imagine that it’s very frustrating. I’m not really an expert on RYTM and I was hoping someone else might have some additional advice but at this time it’s probably correct to go log into your account on the elektron site and create a support ticket so that their techs can help try to get the situation resolved.
Unfortunately, I’m not sure what the next best step is, especially because we’ve confirmed now that the RYTM is recognized by the computer and only invisible in Overbridge mode. I believe it says that the RYTM is working correctly and the computer can find it, so then the problem is more likely on the overbridge / computer drivers side of things and as an end user, I’m not confident in my ability to fully troubleshoot that. I only use overbridge for the most basic purposes (recording) and it’s always worked with no problems on the digi type elektron boxes.
I hope you can get this resolved soon though, definitely at least consider filing a support ticket and include everything you’ve done and the information about it being seen in usb/midi mode but not in overbridge mode.
