I don’t believe I ever pre arranged and structured a “song” everything I uploaded after setting up patterns is improvised jam ( not schooled in music theory etc…intutive )…pretty much monochromatic peppered with synth chords and drum elements against 4/4…
Are we talking about “First ever completed track” or “First ever completed track you were somewhat proud of?”
First ever track that you completed.
In that case yes, used Magix Music Maker. I remember using some of their loops but mostly recording stuff on an old recorder and using that. I also used samples from the Matrix cause why not. I wish I still had a recording of it just so I can hear how bad it was lol. I do remember at the time that it sounded awesome - first techno track I ever made.
pretty cool to hear other people’s work. thanks for sharing! all my stuff is like a disorganized pile of sketches. with new gear and getting back into making any music at all, it’s mostly just fun learning the instruments, workflow, and (re-)discovering all the things i didn’t really understand in the first place. i do have a mint mc-303 with nearly maxed out user storage full of some okay patterns from over 20 years ago. maybe someday they’ll make into something “finished.”
MAYBE
Is that a bad habbit? I am still learning all the concepts – that’s my excuse. Lately heard a lot that I should focus on one genre. Guess I do that and finish something to qualify myself for this thread
It’s not the first, but I probably first recorded this around ‘99 or ‘00, and finally shared it a few years later in ‘04.
I was just jamming on a Roland EG101 of all things, recorded into the mic jack of my computer at the time, and then I layered and reversed parts of it over and over again to get this delay/reverse effect.
About 10 years ago, I decided to illegally download Ableton (don’t worry, I switched to a paid version quickly after that).
While recovering from a severe flu, I thought it was a good idea to use an Oscar Wilde poem for my first track.
