This seems a simple enough question. I tried it and can’t get it to work, and I was wondering whether I’m missing something.
Re-reading the manual and searching the internet, I couldn’t get an answer.
There’s a lot about sending MIDI data through the USB port, and that works fine, but nothing about sending clock (when the ERM is set to use its internal clock).
I don’t know if its possible, but why would you want to do this? Doesn’t it defeat the purpose, of the device?
Yeh dont think you can and like nionmu said kind of defeats the purpose of syncing midi to the audio(pulse) removng latency etc.

When jamming so far, I don’t use the computer at all and the Multiclock is still crucial, set to internal clock, it’s the clock provider for my Digitakt, Digitone, Sub37. Without it, it’s not as tight.
Now I want to add the computer but is a very minor role. Just to play a couple of stereo loops and record the occasional loop from my mixer for transitions.
I could be convinced to give the computer the role of the clock provider but, as a Xone 96 user, I want to benefit from the USB soundcard aspect of it and plug the computer directly to it. Very convenient to send a track or two from Live to channels on the Xone, and get the stereo mix in another. The issue is, there is no extra output to send signal to the Multiclock.
In other contexts, when I make music on the computer and use my instruments as well, I absolutely use one output of my Multiface UX to send signal to the Multiclock, it incredibly tight!
In my experiecnce with erm/pc/xone 96. I had to stop using xone soundcard and go for a motu external so that I could get pc and hardware synced.
Midi to erm over its usb was trash, sending midi from erm(master) to a midi to usb port was trash as traktor glitched.
My only way to get hardware and traktor synced was to clock erm from abelton/erm plugin using link(to trakor).

What I found is the recommended metronome app (on the ERM website) that can send audio clock signal to the ERM and receive Link sync from Live. I was about to give it a go when I remembered my iPhone doesn’t have a jack output. I’ll try with an iPad Pro for which I have an adapter, to see if that works.
I like the Xone 96 sound card convenience. I’ll give it up if necessary…

Yeh was a bit annoyed having to sacrifice the xone soundcard myself. Still all my gear is now locked in solid.
Also, on back of xone96 there is a small 3.5mm jack that I was hoping one day could allow syncing of gear but nothing has ever came of it. “Audio sync out”

A radical solution would be to sacrifice Send 1, and use it a pre to send the signal from Live to a channel on the Xone, and that signal to the Multiclock via Send 1 but that’s a hard price to pay, i love my 2 sends…
I did something similar using the 2nd headphone out to send to ERM. Sacrifised a channel though.
Ableton n traktor(linked) both using xone96 as soundcard. Ableton only sending erm clock plugin audio to one channel on xone, which was then cued up on 2nd headphone.
Ah yes, that’s a way. Saves a Send at least… but still, pity to sacrifice a channel for that. I’ll see how it goes when I get my 96 back from repair…
