Looking at the PTN+PAGE view of “Scale Per Pettern” (FUNC+PTN option) … This is how I use it currently, I create song sections each in a new bank.
64/64 1
512 1
The first 64 on the left is the number of steps in the pattern. Cool easy.
On the bottom, we have the main loop point where all tracks will be forced to start again at the same time, got it.
But on the right … the “/64” … the manual says this is the “max # of steps available to the pattern”.
I don’t get this. If the leftmost # sets steps, what’s the function of the “max” setting? I’m sure it’s important and I’m just missing it. Thank you in advance for enlightening me as I’m sure you will.
Thank you! Something that just occurred to me that makes this important. Lets say you are chopping a sample … and your max steps is 7. But ypure recording a fixed length sample of 64 and you want to track record length in the page less as a counter of time … or if your manually stopping recording on long samples with the record length at 32 bars (64 1\8) … to keep track of when the recording is done aside from manually counting this would make a lot of sense to keep this function so you can rerecord your sample easily.
