Can a quick power outage affect gear that's plugged in but off?

Call me a bit anal but I have an Elektron RYTM & OctaTrack that I have plugged into a Belkin surge protector & we just had a very quick power outage (lasted about 1 second, power just turned off & on). Wind is really bad today & I guess it just quickly knocked the power off and on.

I take extremely good care of my equipment… Even if my gear is plugged into the wall but turned OFF can this still affect it?

How would I even know?

Anyway, going to always keep my gear unplugged unless I’m using it from now on.

Any input is appreciated!

Unlikely if you have a modern fusebox on your house. In the event a surge did somehow get thru then the belkin would trip and break the circuit. Also when the machines are off then the circuit is broken yet again.
I had a lightning strike near the house once that blew up a computer. (old fusebox on the house) but I have never had any gear damaged from power cuts. And we get a few of them where I am.
I would be more concerned about my speakers being left on. They may be protected (I use belkins too) but power disruptions can cause loud pops which can damage them regardless.

Alright, cool… The house I’m living in is only 3 years old so I’m sure it’s fine.

I suppose tho, if you can be bothered with constant un plugging then you are pretty much ensuring you never have a problem.
