C6 sysex problem but USB midi is fine

Heys guys.

I’m having problems updating the OS on my Monomachine via C6. I also wanted to upload the Lem sysex and having trouble with both.

I just recently updated my A4 os via USB/C6 so I’m wondering what the issue might be. Maybe some Mavericks thing w MIDI? But couldn’t do so using a midi device (I did it straight via USB to the computer)

Anyway does anybody know if is it possible to use the A4 as a USB midi sysex transfer device using the midi thru into my Monomachine?

Not all MIDI interfaces work with sysex. My Emu XMIDI 1x1 USB interface is useless for it, but the MIDI built into my Babyface works for it. The Roland UM-ONE mkII (about $40 iirc) should work but don’t quote me on it.

Maybe someone knows of a list around here or EU that shows all the viable MIDI interfaces. Or perhaps Elektron can recommend one that is not the TM-1? lol.

I’ve tried the TM1 and also a MOTU Fastlane USB. The Fastlane has worked in the past. Weirdly I’ve never gotten the TM1 to work.

I’m wondering if it’s a OS Mavericks issue. hmm

Maybe. I did use a Mavericks iMac recently with my Babyface and and old Vyzex editor for my EWI, but perhaps C6 needs an update after Mavericks =/

If I get time I’ll try and use C6 to add/manage some waveforms on my MnM and see what happens.

What exactly is the problem? Does it start to send but doesn’t complete?

I just used my Babyface to send a a kit to my iMac, did a wipe, and sent the kit back to the MnM. I think it’s your MIDI interface.

When I transferred to the iMac, I told C6 to receive and then sent from the MnM. When I sent the kit back to the MnM, I told it to receive and hit send on C6.

^I’d be inclined to agree, but if the TM1 didnt work, it may be an OSX/C6 issue.

I never had issues using C6 with Snow Leopard, but with Mountain Lion i have to set the delay ticks to something rather high, around 10, otherwise my Elektrons never receive data. I think people started noticing issues with Lion, so hopefully Elektron can take some time to check it out.
