First, I just want to say I’m happy to be on the forum now that I’ve finally purchased my first Elektron Keys. What a machine! Thanks in advance for what I’m sure will not be my only question on this forum.
I’ve read the manual once from cover to cover, and I’m on my 2nd read through and I have a question about a feature mentioned on page 9 of the user manual. On page 9 under ‘The User Interface’ under ‘Tips’ the second bullet point says,
'Buttons or knobs not used by an active menu retain their original function. For example, the TEMPO menu makes use of the SOUND SELECTION wheel, but you can still use the DATA ENTRY knobs to control the parameters of the active track.
I tried the example given, and pressed the TEMPO button (eg ‘120’ shows in the display), then turn one of the data entry knobs A-J (eg. in filter mode I turned FRQ). However the DATA ENTRY KNOBS have no effect while tempo is open. I tried them in performance mode as well with the given example of having tempo open but again the knobs A-J even though set up with macros had no effect while tempo was open.
So I’m wondering if I misunderstood the information on this feature, it doesn’t work for everyone, or there is an issue with my AK. Thank you for any information on this. It’s not such a big deal but I just want to make sure I understand all the features and how they work.
What OS are you running? I see something in the latest bug fixes that sounds close to what you are describing. Maybe it is a variation on that same bug.
Thanks for reading this post. I’m on 1.11B.
