Hello, I’m posting this message because I really don’t know what to do anymore, my buttons 1 to 8 no longer work on my analog rytm mk1, if anyone has a solution I’d be very grateful, thank you in advance.
Have you booted it up in test mode and test all the buttons? And are you referring to the trigs of the pads?
Yes, I tried in test mode, but button 1 doesn’t work and I can’t launch test mode. And exactly, I’m talking about buttons 8 through 1 that allow sequencing.
which firmware version is installed on the AR? did they stop working after a firmware upgrade or is this unrelated? it could potentially be an hardware issue in which case i think your best bet would be to get in touch with HQ, unless you know someone who could have a look at it
I have version 1.72, and I didn’t have this problem before, but I don’t know if it’s really related. I bought my Elektron from a private seller, so I presume the warranty won’t cover it…
Elektron warranty is 3 years from manufacturer date so if it’s an mk1 it’s long past either way. Elektron does actually cover warranty without receipt since they will in that case check the date.
But it’s very likely the previous owner might have done something that has affected the buttons now, perhaps something got inside and has eroded the contacts on the pcb. Perhaps you can try an open it up and have a look? Check this video for some guidance:
I took it apart and looked at it, nothing obvious, but another problem I have is that I can’t navigate the test menu.
I would contact Elektron and see what a repair would cost.
