Button Cap Kits

Hi,

i saw that there are now the Button Cap Kits are in the Store. There are 2 Versions the original ones and Smooth Surface ones.
Does any one knows if this new once are getting in the same time Sticky from the overlay or are they better? HAs someone tested them ? How do they Feel instead the original ones. As i have nearly all Elektron MAchines and have a lot of Sticky Buttons i just want to get shure before i change all of them.

The new non-rubber ones won’t get sticky. How long the paint on them will last is untested. They’re similar to the TR1000 buttons allegedly, and those have chipped for some people with use.

Wonder if they do them for the OT AE

Seems like there would be enough demand to make and ship these in the US? $29 for an envelope full of plastic is pretty ridiculous. Especially when it’s their fault the buttons suck in the first place.

It’s better than nothing I guess. Seems you can buy the kits for the newest releases as well… why they didn’t ship them with non-rubber crap buttons in the first place after knowing about this problem for so many years is a bit of a mystery. Ableton stopped using it on Push 2 after a certain point, then went on to make Push 3 without it from the start.

Anyway, potential for chipping paint is much easier to live with than gooey mess everywhere.

pls release them for tonverk as well

would also be cool if you could buy single FUNC buttons in different colors!

Massively overpriced, nasty expensive shipping.

Unimpressed by the whole thing really.

Yep. (Over)charging us to fix a problem they should’ve fixed themselves years ago. I’m generally really supportive of the way Elektron goes about things, but this was a massive misstep

They have done… Such a bargain at Ā£43 + Ā£29 p&p that they are sold out?!

For anyone new, this is a 8 year old Digitone! :yum:

Pricey perhaps, but I’ll buy them nevertheless. I want to keep them as a last-resort/backup stash in case I can’t buy replacement rubber ones anymore in the future.

BTW noticed my MicroFreak black rubber ones already getting ever so slighty more ā€˜grippy’ then when new. Nothing to worry about yet, but I’ll contact Arturia pre-emptively.

I have ordered smooth button for my DT 1 and the enjoy factor is real. It feel like a new gear, the touch contact is very smooth and I feel they will last far longer than the original one. It is a bit pricey but if you like your gear, you take care of it and cleaning / replacing used parts is the healthy way to keep you stuff for life.

They’re out of stock because the Tonverk sets got sent out with the ā€œ10ā€ button being a Digitone II 10 with the underscore.

Was that so robots don’t mistake it for binary 01?

Anyboy tried those versus old one ?

Any pics or feedabck would be great.

Thks

Got a few packs of buttons when I ordered the overhub2, can’t wait to get them. I’ve never had an issue with the rubber going sticky the way some peoples do, but I just prefer the feel of the old school buttons
