Bug w/ trigless trigs & envelopes?

not sure if this is a bug or intended behaviour,
but to me it looks like a bug:

using trigless trigs, you can trigger envelopes & LFOs independently from actual note gates, right?

as trigless trigs have their own gate (note length), you would expect that they will also stop envelopes which are triggered by them.

so try the following: place a normal trig in the sequencer, set its note length to several steps, then disable it triggering the envelopes (ENVF & ENV2) from the note page. then place a trigless trig as the next step, set its note length to a short value, and make it trigger the envelopes.

imo, the expected and useful behaviour would be that the envelopes are only open for the duration of the short trigless trig, but what actually happens is that the trigless trig will open the envelope, but then will not close it. The envelopes will be kept open until closed by the normal trig.

imo, this is buggy behaviour, as the UI indicates that the normal trig does not touch the envelope, while the trigless trig should control it. Also, trigless trigs do have a note length, but with the current behaviour it’s no use.

thoughts?

that’s a bug, well, let me put it this way, that’s buggy

the envelope is not working correctly at all imo
you can get the envelope to work (a workaround) by giving it a ‘fixed’ Len value in the Env page
but i agree, it’s not what i’d have expected and is conflicting with the UI evidence … but there’s a couple other examples of that already !!

good good, reported :imp:
