Bug? Sound gets altered on select new sequence

I have noticed a strange bug, or there is something I really don’t understand.

I have a custom kit, and sounds 11 and 12 use samples, so I have the synth turned off on the trig page. However when I select a new sequence to record new stuff with this kit, the synth turns back on. You can actually see it change when a new empty sequence is selected.

Is there some global kit weirdness going on, or is this just a strange bug?

I’ve resaved the kit many times, to ensure it has the synth parts turned off. If I turn off the ARII, and turn it back on, the synth sections remain off - but select a new sequence and they turn on.

Today I updated to 1.6 and this behaviour has not changed.

It’s not a bug, those parameters on that page are all to do with the track, nothing to do with the kit - if you want your kit to guarantee a synth off, then set the synth to ground/disable or drop the volume/level of the synth side to zero

Thanks for the info.

This feels very unintuitive. So these parameters to turn off synth or sample parts are only used for p-locking, not for the base sound itself?

It feels wrong that selecting an empty sequence will alter the sound of my kit, because usually p-lockable parameters start from the kit, not the track (empty or not).

I agree that it feels strange. I used to have many head-scratching moments related to this design choice. Think of it this way: everything on the “Trig” page is associated with the pattern, NOT the kit.
