I started to sound design on the DN1 - i want to utilize the Modwheel, Aftertouch and Velocity Mod.
I did set up clips in Abelton, while the DN1 was in Overbridge mode, with preset midi envelopes to test the modulatios while tweaking the settings.
With 4 clips, the DN1 started to act very strange in some ways - i.e. it seems it reacted on modwheel on channel 3 instead only on channel 1, where the envelope was set.
Is this because its in overbridge mode? I.e. any modwheel i send to the vst - is copied to channel 2,3,4
Channel 2,3,4 have their individual clips.
The amount of midi information shouldnt be that high with pitch, CC1 and CC2 send to the device ?
4x 3 CC with pitch bend sometimes. (Ok i had a pitch envelope generator in Abelton used.)
Is this already too much midi sent to the DN1 ?
I troubleshooted this further - when i use track 4, and do some velocity mod - even on slow notes , i.e. the velocity is send to a pad every 4 bars, the sound gets completly trashed.
I am not sure if this is an Overbridge issue.
To repeat the issue create a sound, and then use the sound setting menu , and set up velocity mod - it seems it happens on basic filter offsets- when i remove the setting , it does also not set back the sound as it was before.
Maybe somebody from the DN2 users can try to reproduce this issue also?
Also when i set the octave of the sound, and revert it, completly resets the sound - instead of only changing the octave. I did a send fx on the amp , and modulated this with the mod wheel - A, it had a very huge lag - while the sound did play fine.
I think the overbridge midi implementation might be buggy. I will try to automate it with abelton, instead of sending CC.
Ok - with Abelton automation it isnt happening, but as soon as i put a modifier on the modwheel, it destroys the sound again. I will test it without abelton, only using the hapax tomorrow - but that is terrible.
Edit: I did test with USB streaming, here the DN1 behaves as expected, it seems to be an Overbridge VST problem.
