BUG (1.01): Bass Tom infinite delay

Looks like there’s a new bug in 1.01 where the Bass Tom sometimes gets an infinite delay. This often happens immediately after turning the machine on, when unmuting the BT track, or when you adjust the delay time.

Please note that it might take a few tries to trigger this issue, and that tweaking the settings or unmuting/muting might also resolve it temporarily; I haven’t yet found a repeatable way to trigger it every time, or to make the issue go away.

Anyone else who can confirm this?

There’s also a bug with the BT in the higher octave range. You can switch off the Synth and Sample and it will still make a 10 second long tone sound. This sound also appears if you switch on the Synth and / or Sample so gets in the way if you intend to play any high notes.

Not sure if I’m having the same problem but on a certain pattern/kit I get constant tone around 21hz according to Waves Paz.

Booting and changing the settings don’t seem to help.
Not sure if this a user error but was wondering if someone else had encountered the same problem.

I noticed it first from my RME Fireface mixer.

Noticed this today too (1.02F), same circumstances, after a boot, heard a brief noise when booting and it was a clear kit, BT5 just rings out, even when the decay is at a setting which should curtail this - did anyone report this previously ?

this happened to me too. just this god-awful sound. like a pissed off BT banshee. I also have this issue when muting tracks that only use samples. It’s like it gets caught in this infinite decay loop.

Same problem over here. When I use a sample on BT5 (and have the synth level lowered to zero) there is this big, low decay hum after starting up the machine and pressing play.

Lowering the decay to zero on the BT5 synth solves the problem for me (even though the synth volume is down to zero on BT5).

By the way, this is my first post. This forum has been very helpful in getting to know my Elektron gear. Many thanks to all of you!

mutes only mute triggers fwiw, looping samples and inf decay stuff won’t care about a mute

I have the same issue on pad LT6. So that means for me that several users have worked with the machine well and independent from each other they discovered this bug. This should be fixed otherwiese we have a problem on performing our tracks. Especially when the levels peaks arround 21Khz.

I would go so far as to say the whole bass Tom circuit seems the most unstable of the Rytms sounds. There are a lot of inconsistencies on my unit when triggering the sound. Particularly with the filter at certain settings, the synth decay and the amp decay.

It’s a bit wasted at the moment as I tend to just use it for sample playback

I can confirm this too. Found a way to easily reproduce it and filed a ticket.

Start from new project
Add some triggers to BT5 track
From the Trig page: turn note to +13

Doing this will make the tom ring out, even when only a sample is playing on that track

Wondering if this bug is fixable (maybe the analog path won’t allow it?) Either way, it’s been around since launch and hasn’t been fixed. As others have said it can render that drum useless as it even happens with just sample playback.
