My wife has always wanted to visit her friend near LA so trying to get her to OK the trip around this show…would love to be there.

Nymira from Terraphones

So think of something like an Omnichord with the buttons layed out in a circle of fifths – major next to relative minor. Then add in sound engines additive, subtractive and granular, with FM all based on overtones of the harmonic series, with variations.

All this in a hand made interface with buttons and sliders, a walnut enclosure and battery power.

Here’s a video to give a taste of the sounds possible. There are many other videos if you look.

ADDED : Nymira in ambient performance ( video ).

ADDED : They also make a unique wind synth the Aurelia. ( post )

I’ll be there! My buddy Otter Mods will be presenting, if you’re into modular gear I recommend stopping by his table. He’ll be showing off some awesome pattern generators he’s been working on for a while.

Is this one of those bring headphones and plug into stuff type shows?

Yeah it’s one of those…

In fact they have a headphones :headphones: only policy ( except for special rooms ), that’s nice, and it’s designed to be a “hands-on” event. You are really encouraged to bring your own headphones.

This specific venue is new this year. C&I Studios, a downtown LA sound stage.

It’s free but ya gotta register to attend.

I didn’t see absolute confirmation on this but it seems almost a certainty. She did in 2025 along with NAMM, and made some really good videos there too.

Also i see in 2026 she is going to cover Superbooth. Her New Years announcement includes that.

Elektron will annonce a new firmware (DN2, TV) this week-end at Buchla & Friends according to you?
I hope

If they updated any of my elektrons (DN2, TV, Syntakt) this month I’d be elated. I’ve been pretty happy with my gear setup and digging into the weeds with these boxes is my goal for the year but there’s definitely some little things I really want on all of them.

Synthrise

Kvas is a stringer for SonicState.

Synthrise has been posted about before like here, here, and here.

EDIT : Fixed video link – i think the audio was messed up in the previous link and they tossed it.

I tried to use the Tonverk but I could not get it to make any sound at all :joy: Was going to say something because I think something was wrong but I felt embarrassed so I just left.

Maybe Xzibit played it before you and put too many compressors on compressors on compressors in his compressor.

Hope you get to try a working demo. The TV is so good.

Magnolia from Frap Tools

Interview by Nick Kvas again.

They’re shipping :ship: this unusual beast of a synth. Analog through zero FM with wave folding, and a new form of wave sync.

I’ve been there before, but ya just gotta push through that feeling. Nobody cares! Mario has happily explained the machines to every possible kind of person at every possible level of understanding!

Nymira from Terraphones

Good interview.
