Branded interactions

Being a lecturer in Service Design at The Hague University of applied researches, I would like to recommend a book for the elektron employees to read.

It is called ‘branded interactions’.

You can take a digital look at it, and will probably find a competitor as an example for amazing branded interactions.

But… I must say… I prefer perfect end products and bad interactions, over perfect interactions and average products. So at the end… elektron… you win,

Ace book; as a UX Designer I always like adding things like this to my collection.

I didn’t see it on the site or maybe I’m just blind, is there an English version?

no english version, unfortunately.

I called them about it, they thought of translating the book, but they were still not sure about it.

the book I use for my students is ‘this is service design’, by Marc Stickdorn.but is more about services and less about branding.

That looks like it could be an interesting read. (But no English version, so…)

That’s true, only German.
I didn’t realize when I posted it, for me it doesn’t matter to read a german book or an english book.

Doesn’t matter to me either.

Just one time, I only understand the pretty pictures :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Is the book all about a consistent design flow / UI / UX ?

yes…
holistic approach to interaction management and branding.

the latest customer interactions of Elektron are not very well, although the new website and their products are so amazing… but it seems like they fail in the detail and then they make many people pissed. Pretty unnecessary, I think… especially the fail of not delivering the Rytm…

Off course also at NI people complain at their forum… but NI creates a dream, and they are really good in it. just like Chanel, Nike, etc…

in business, most creation takes place by using ‘waterfall’ models. No iterations, no recreation. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waterfall_model

Designers had other ideas about creation, and started to show iterative creation models. Especially software development changed by this, now the term ‘design’ starts to be very popular.

Most aspects of ‘service design’ are very common and simple. But they still go wrong in many places. Most organizations behave like idiots.

If something is ‘successful’ the word is used too many times. HR departments are still looking for someone who is an ‘out of the box thinker’, even if they want a zomby. Production organizations call themselves Lean, even if they are not and they don’t want to be. Now organizations call themselves Agile…
