BPM Control

Dear Elektron,

please implement BPM control in your machines!

Per Pattern or per Bank or in in case of OT per Part .
It is really a pain and annoying to switch or dial the tempo on stage and get it right under the presure of the live situation and i DO NOT whant to use the arranger!

There are tons of requests pointing at this issue.
Could you please make a statement about implementing it or not. Possible or not. Whatever but not staying silent again…

Thanks!

Van

Just not going to happen.

It can be done with song/arranger mode, so there is a workaround. While a per pattern mode would be more convenient for most, they have a way to work around this and changing it would mean a major update on all their machines, so it isn’t going to happen.

I’ve probably got 100 different ideas about tempo workflow that Elektron will never see fit to add to their paradigm. You adapt or die, but if you don’t want to die you get creative and that is a large part of their paradigm. The more I have to figure out the workarounds the more I grow and find new creativity. If anything, that is one of the key things that separates Elektron from software despite being grounded in a similar approach, and if it isn’t for you there are plenty of other options to explore. If you want the challenge, however, there are few better more rewarding options.

my dear friend Accent,

i don’t know how you or the rest of you electronic guys do it, but for me this machines are just TOOLS and nothing else. they DO NOT inspire me or they DO NOT give me wings of creativity. they are just TOOLS. i’m enough creative and i search for tools that can fit my creativity not the other way back! Gitting inspired or getting creative because of such a toy is a no go for me as an artist. this is silly!

the ONLY reason why i’ve spend money on this is because ( and i think a lot of us) of getting rid of the pc on stage! not to learn new instruments and not to fight with someone elses paradigm how music should be done!

this is a simple question pointed directly to the manufacturer of this tool and i don’t whant to be instructed how i have to make my music.

thanks & cheers!

…i got to show up here, too…of course…

because dedicated bpm control without beeing stucked to an arrange mode IS EXACTLY what i’m begging for…

and without, my octatrack and my a4 are not even half that versatile as i would need them to be for my live purposes…

we’re talking big stages here…no disco performers hang out…

so hell yeah…we deserve a final answer if this will ever happen…

but the more i wrap my head around this, the more i’m afraid they just can’t make it happen…
otherwise they would have done it long time ago…

these sequencers are so tight bound to limitless realtime access AND the miracle of plocking, that our simple request might just not work here…no matter if it should be a standard to do so…

so if all elektrons can only jump in tempi if the get slaved…
it might be time for some xtra box…

a very small midi clock generator that has dedicated buttuns for single parts with prefixed tempi…and quite some program changes…

buiöt a box like this…with your doubled up midi lane…a dedicated tempo and arrange remote for all of your machines…

but whatsoever…say somthing about this finally…
