BPM Changes

I’d like to assign different BPM’s to different Banks. That way when I change from Bank A to Bank B, it automatically changes to the BPM assigned to Bank B.

Is this possible? Seems pretty simple, yes?

If this issue has already been discussed, please direct me to the thread! I searched and was surprised I didn’t find anyone else talking about this…

it has been discussed…for the other Elektrons too…but dont remember the threads…

anyaway, you cannot do what you need. The only way to achieve BPM changes is to use the Arranger

Also there are some special actions to have the BPM changed at the release of FUNCT.

Like…press FUNCT rotate the Level knob to change the bpm - as soon as you release FUNCT it jumps directly to the new value.

There some others that I cannot remember…i swear there was a thread about this particular subject.

When i find it i’ll link it here.

I saw the combos on the Elektron Next Level 2011 pdf document

you can grab it from the marvellous Veets’s site

Then look for this title: OT function+ tempo knob+tap tempo options (2011)

wow thats some troublesome news!

hard to believe that something as simple as bpm memory is not available with theses machines. using the arranger puts you in a place where you don’t have flexibility with song length.

seems like a simple fix to the OS in my opinion.

until then looks like i will have to remember all the bpm’s of ALL my songs so i can play a live set… and, at the same time switch from one bank to another? yikes!

the FUNCT tip will help though. thanks for you reply…

Cool! Thanks for that Sicijk.

But I would still love to see a simple option where i don’t have to change the bank and perform the FUNCT BPM tweak at the same time…

you could enter the pattern order with BPM changes in the Arranger and jump in and out of it. you’d have to have a set order of patterns mapped out beforehand though.

ah this is interesting too
i’ll try this thx xyzr_kx

I am into this to play a full mix dj (example: first static sample depeche mode song, second static sample the cure full song , etc ) but dont know how to …make a pattern that play a whole big length long sample. if anyone can help , thanks millions

You can use 1st trig condition. Make the trig that triggers the sample a 1st trig condition and the sample will trigger once, no matter the pattern length or master length.

You could also set master length to infinite and set chain behaviour to 16, or whatever length you prefer for cueing the next pattern.
You can always start/stop a track by pressing track button and start/stop.

Or use plays free tracks.

What works best for you also depends on how you want to dj.

Re: tempo. OT has tempo per pattern now. Each pattern can have its own tempo set.

Don’t forget to set the timestretch OFF.
