hey fellow elektronauts,
after years of producing noise and ambient I kind of tried to add a bass drum to my live set last night
lend it an ear and let me know what you think about it.
If someone happens to listen to this with adequate bass I’d really appreciate feedback on how those frequencies work/fail, since I compose on headphones and had no monitoring at the venue…
Setup consists of OT, OP-1 and MC202.
On OT 1st track is a PICKUP machine for vocals/ FLEX machine for vocal recordings / FLEX machine for realtime vocal mangling.
2nd track is bass drums,
3rd is snare/ snarish noises,
4th hihats,
5th a THRU for the MC202,
6th a FLEX for noises/ field recordings /percussionish stuff
7th a THRU for the OP-1
and 8th track is a MASTER with DJ EQ and DARK REVERB
MC202 does its “I’m a 303 for girls” thingie, with its sequencer free running (I adjust the speed to taste and keep changing it, which is quite fun. The THRU track kind of keeps it connected to the rest via volume trigs and delay).
OP-1 plays pre-recorded…hmmm…8 bar dub chords (mostly PULSE/ PHASE and FM engines)
with additional melodic/tonal elements (mostly DSYNTH, one time STRING).
It’s great fun to mangle those loops with the tape simulation!
Synced by hand/ear.
All in all i got heavily inspired by this thread:
