You can achieve a soft attack delay fx by performing this procedure.
This work best on sounds with sharp attack and a bit of decay so a “mid or high tom” will be a nice start.
- Activate 3 or 4 triggers for that sound and set a very noticeable delay.
- Now p-lock Amp/DEL to 20 or less so the delay goes in second plane.
Now turn Amp/DEL to 127 and each time you want a blurred like delay keep turning up Amp/DEL clockwise.
Each time you turn higher the Amp/DEL knob, some soft attack delays comes up. Nice isn´t it?
Explanation: Each time a trigger happens the Amp/DEL is set to 20, if you are turning up Amp/DEL and that time you´ll take over the param right after, so the first transients of the sound doesn’t get “wet” and you get that blurry kind soft delay.
Happy delaying.
If you try this technique in other parameters with nice results also please share here!
PS. Because performances overrides p-locks, this effect can only be achieved directly on the Track parameter. Sorry
