Blokas Midihub

Is the preset you are on displayed by the LEDs?

Yes it is displayed but perhaps only when you press the button (not in my studio to check right now), it’s quite an elegant design imo.

Edited to add: I just checked, the preset is displayed all the time, you don’t need to hit the button

Cool thanks.

I just ordered, and there are 74 of these babies left.

This is just the midi solution I was looking for, plus a million awesome things I had no idea I could do. After reading up and watching all the YouTube videos, I’m so excited for this to arrive.

I just realized that this device should finally allow me to record the modweel into the Digitakt, by rerouting it to CCs that the Digitakt expects on MIDI tracks. Great!

I’m trying to make a part of my setup to activate the Digitakt loopback trick. So the path is
Digitakt OUT-> MidiHub B IN port -> editor preset -> MidiHub B OUT port -> Digitakt IN
then the settings in both MidiHub editor and Digitakt midi settings.

Digitakt: Track 1=Chanel 9, Track 2=Chanel 10, Track 3=Chanel 11, etc… but Track 8=OFF in order to preserve channel 16 for AUTO (to activate midi for only the selected track including Track 8)
Track A Chanel 1, Track B Chanel 2, Track C Chanel 3, etc, FX control + AUTO channel = 16 and PROG CHG i/o AUTO

In the screen shot is the 1st draft of the filter pipe settings, filtering out all messages that can overflow midi data and crash digitakt. (selected pipe)

Does it work? I think you should change the “FROM B” physical inputs, to the “FROM B” virtual input in lines 4, 5 and 6.

What else is connected to the midihub outputs A, C and D?

Yes it does work. I have just used a cc LFO from a digitakt MIDI channel to control a sample track, just point the right destination channel number, in this case is channel 9 (1st audio track from settings).

Port i/o A points to a keystep (and/or a novation launchpad pro MK3 for clock sync). At the same time those controllers send their messages to all ports along side with Digitakt.
C and D are Waldorf Blofeld and Pulse2.

The preset uses all ports and will be updated after tests.
I think I am in the right direction. Some problems with Overbridge and midi sync, I will have to test further.

Note on/off should be filtered out otherwise Digitakt will crash. Double stop resets midi correctly.

Same here! I haven’t had time to actually set it up and probably won’t before I leave for 2 weeks on Monday… But it will be very useful.

So I been checking a lot of videos tonight and reading on the MIdiHub community but I can´t test anything since I´m home with the kids and not in the studio.

I´ll go tomorrow and just try to set up a basic preset for recording.
I´m looking to go from(Mac) the 4 USB Out to the 4 Midi Out sending clock to OT, Digitone, Mfb Dom1, Cycle. But I would like to use the Dom1 as a midi keyboard to play soft synth in Ableton and possible also play the Digitone.

I don´t have wifi in the studio so have to go with trail and error unless someone have an
idea how to achieve this in and care to share an editor screenshot.

Mine arrived, what a beauty! Simply can’t accept poorly built gear anymore. :ecstatic:

Very excited for mine, probably going to rebuild my studio when I get it as I’m generally trying to scale down.

Very cool to see how dedicated they are to supporting this into the future and that we’re sure to see a lot more features to come. One very interesting one for me is cc to Sussex for controlling parameters on old fm synths, they said they may even make some templates for various synths.

Yeah the day of combining several single function MIDI boxes together is pretty much over. The only hole left for me is for a USB MIDI Host connection, to connect a USB MIDI only device that i have—my Roland Aerophone. I mean without a computer that is.

I know there are lots of options. Do other people have one they are particularly happy with that goes well with the Midihub ?

The mio boxes has both USB Host, DIN, RTP and midi filtering. The Midihub could be added for the advanced midi effects of sorts.

The MioXL has worked flawless for me, I could not be without USB host or RTP.

MIDI HUB intrigues me, but it’s way to limited (for me) in it’s I/O to be the main hub/brain, which is a shame.

I’m asking people who are using a Midihub already, sorry i wasn’t clearer about that, Fotopaul.

For the price, and extra functionality, the retro kits RK006 is both a hub and a host. It doesn’t have the great programming possibilities as the MidiHub. I have both. Different applications.
